Finally on the water.
Wasn't sure if I was going to make it to Banks lake yesterday after burning up my new waterpump impeller (bad earmuffs)
Shop did a rush repair(awesome)got here to Banks 9:30 this morning, launched boat, first bad-motor not wanting to idle after short warm up but got boat to campsite, maybe mile and half from boat launch.second bad-got a water leak at lower motor mount bolt, lucky I had tube of caulk in truck, sealed leak, third bad-broke depthfinder transducer bracket getting back of boat back in the water, will have to attempt repair back at boat launch later, fourth bad-hook up Minn-kota to slow troll but no work(batteries are fine)fifth bad-attempt trolling with the honda that doesn’t want to idle,no depth/fish finder, damn it I'm fishing and the wind kept trying to turn the boat in circles so bad after an hour or so reeled in,came back to camp and presently hiding from the wind in tent telling all you people what a wonderful day I'm having on my first fishing trip since getting my boat repaired. But it could be worse-I could be at work today🤔

I've had bad days like that before. Maybe not that bad. Good to see your enjoying your time away from work.
It got worse, started to rain, decided to check boat and glad I did because the other lower bolt was leaking and found out bilge pump not working.Had no choice but to have my friend drive my truck to launch while I ran the boat,no fun in wind and rain and an a$$ half full of water(didn't want to get on plane easy)
Tomorrow is supposed to be nicer so back to trying to fix what I can enough to hopefully enjoy some of this trip.

Good luck, please don't push your luck. What Rhyno said. Know when to quit. Maybe trailer the boat and have a little bank fishing?

Man, don’t go to Vegas with the luck you’re having with your boat. As far as boats go, boat means bring out another thousand. Hang in there it’s gonna get better I hope for you.😎👍

Sorry to hear all these issues SA. Boats are always a pain in the butt, but when it's straightened out it will be worth it. Just be safe out there, and don't take any foolish chances. Good luck buddy.

sorry to hear. sounds like my first trip out last year, almost sunk my boat with a leaking seam and a non workimg pump. I used duct tape on the seam for a temp fix and now have two pumps. if your motor drives the boat to fast you can drag a wind sock or 5 gal bucket to slow yoy down a bit. hope things are better tomorrow for you

No sock or bucket, wind still blowing hard this morning so loaded up and drove the 200 miles back home.caulked the leaks, repaired transducer bracket and got bilge working again and its a beautiful day here in Granite Falls.Further boat testing will probably be on Lake Stevens close to home.Next camping trip will probably be for Baker Lake sockeye, only about 60 miles from home, and hopefully with a working electric trolling motor. Lol

Glad you got home safely SA. Before I take mine out for the first time, I check out everything. All systems, electrical, lights, pumps, and especially below the waterline. I don't like surprises. Better luck on your next trip.

ehen is the sockeye season on that lake? Is it before area 9 Chinook season? you want to make sure everything is working by then

If I'm not mistaken, June-July best time for Baker sockeye if they even open the lake to fish them.last year it was only open for maybe a week or so,very low fish count. And I'll pound Lake Stevens for kokanee to finish boat testing.
