Great set up.... best advise I can give you is make your kayak your own and do what works best for you. I have a lot to do on mine but I started out with just a kayak and a fish finder. Now I have finders,LED lights, trolling motors ....the works.

Send me some pictures I would love to see it.

Thatโ€™s a nice set up you have there Gary. I also love fishing from my yak and also enjoy getting out and wading. I get a little exercise and enjoy the stealth aspect of kayaking. Do you drift fish out of it? Good luck and good fishing ๐Ÿ˜Ž๐Ÿ‘

Not exactly sure what drift fish means? No anchor?
But I usually anchor for a while and if it gets slow or nothing I move and anchor again.

My tackle box tucked under a bungee cord on the bow. Although I carry some hooks, weights, senkos and a few lures back with me. The kayak weighs 50 lbs.

Thanks

I live on the Texas coast. Our bay waters are fairly shallow and Iโ€™ll pick an area I want to drift and set out a small sea anchor to slow the drift then Iโ€™ll cast lures in front of the drift. Our bay waters are pretty clear here and while drifting quietly you can come upon a school of Redfish and cast to the one you want. If the bay is not choppy Iโ€™ll fish with a top water lure for them. The kayak is such an awesome boat to fish out of. I like your set up, everyone has to set theirs up for the waters the fish. I have never had a need for a depth finder because Iโ€™m mostly fishing water not over 3-4 ft. deep. Paddle on ๐Ÿ˜Ž๐Ÿ‘

Nice yak Gary, I have a similar model and love it. I added a cleat on each side just above the carry handles. Also have velcrod in the front compartment dn below a handy box and Gatorade bottle.
Be very careful with a stand up yak! Just watched a YouTube video of a guy at Havasu stood up to set a hook and fell overboard in 45* water and was very lucky another fisherman was a few hundred yes away to help. Easily could have turned very bad.

I will happily take some pictures of my kayak and post them here. I just have to dig it out and hook everything up
