My Apple phone does not ring unless I have entered the name and phone number in my list of folks I know. May make me to miss some calls, but I am willing to accept that.

Also, I don't think the spammers are from India. I have a problem with my HP printer and made over 20 calls trying to get it straight. All the people trying to help were out of the U.S. and not native English speakers. I had a hard time understanding them, from Central America, Guam, and so forth. It might be cheaper for the company, but I was usually left pissed at the lack of help, lack of being able to communicate, and such a waste of time. Just Sayin..RJS

You have to ask for a US connection ! Most times you can get one if you say you have a bad connection and can not hear them well !

Here's a true, semi long funny story about phone banks. Banks are the fly by night companies that fill rooms with people who call numbers all day long trying to sell you stuff or scam you. After a promotion where I worked, I inherited a phone number and the former fellow that had that number used to buy prescription drugs on line. I would get 8 to 10 calls a day wanting to sell me prescription drugs. I tried everything to get them to stop. Initially hang ups and then press 2 to speak with agent and when when a person answered, I said, "Will you please.." and then they hung up on me because they knew it wasn't going to be a sale. So when that didn't work, I pressed 2 to speak with an agent and when they answered, I blasted the receiver with a boat horn . That was great fun and the office loved it as long as I yelled "boat horn" before I did it. On a Friday I got a call and the guy says threateningly, "Oh so you're the funny man with the noise huh? Let me tell you what I'm going to do with you...." and I cut him off yelling, "Up yoouurrss!!" as I hung up. The next Monday I started getting calls pretty much one after another from numbers all over the country. One saying, "Who are you and why are you calling my wife?" Others saying "why are you calling my number and hanging up?" and "You called my number in the middle of the night and hung up," etc. The guy I told, "Up yours" apparently was their tech guy or was the tech guys boss and set up his system to call random numbers and make it appear that my work number was the one that made the call. I had to abandon that phone number. Fortunately it wasn't that disruptive. Guess he showed me. Lol.

I just tell those A-holes that won't
quit to keep calling so that my tech buddy can trace the call and track them down, after which some really mean, ugly bastard (myself) will show up in their office with a 4-foot-long machete and a sawed-off, double-
barrelled 12-gauge to wreak havoc
by gutting, skinning and decapitating their whole crew and crapping down their necks when he's done ! Funny, the calls have diminished to a dozen calls per week instead of per day !

Note to Stagers - used to have
a 'friends and family' rule where
those folk were protected, but
my siblings have become
exceptions to that rule !

Friends have nothing to worry
about, so long as they stay friends
and don't 'screw the pooch' (which would have to entail a MAJOR
screw-up on their part) !

Well, some idiots have gone and given SPAM a bad name. I happened to like Spam, and my mother would
open a can, slice it, and fry the slices. May not be filet, but it was good, especially with scrambled eggs. Just Sayin...RJS

Was never a big fan, but I would
eat it without complaint ! Since
WWII, Spam has been a big deal on Hawai'i - they fix it a dozen different ways and for/with almost every meal !

Had two friends that I hunted and fished with (one's gone and lost
touch with the other) who would
go GA-GA over something called Scrapple (along with their dad and youngest brother) - tried it, not impressed ! I would eat it if it was served, but would never go looking
for it ! I'll stick with bacon/sausage/
ham or steak with my eggs ! (Not
a big fan of hash, either !)
