I’ll trade you Spirit. I have a 2500 Chevy. It’s got a 35 gallon tank. I’m afraid it’s gonna be sitting quite a bit

I hear ya there. I have a one ton Chevy dually with a big block gas engine. 12 mpg on a good day. It’s on vacation for a while. Last time I filled it up (40 gallon tank) it was $134.00 and it had over 1/4 tank still in it. I have a 3/4 ton Chevy diesel as well that gets 20 mpg and it ain’t going anywhere unless I really need it. Diesel fuel is $6.00/gallon here right now🤨👎. We’re driving the Outback that gets 26 mpg and the Camry that gets 35 and we ain’t doing much joy riding for sure.

We just went to Montana to have lunch with my daughter (Missoula). Regular unleaded was $3.99/gallon. I think there might be a little price gouging going on in places. It’s $5.00 a gallon here in Riggins and they said it’ll be $7.00 by the end of summer. They told me that long before the Russia deal. Projections started with the shut down of the keystone pipeline so I’m not gonna blame Putin for it. We took our Toyota Camry that gets 35 mpg so it was a pretty cheap trip for today’s prices. 410 mile round trip for $35.00👍

One tv station here in New Mexico said e have several thousand wells that are not turned on by owners. Sounds like they are waiting, for prices to go higher.

maybe it would be interresting to know the truth. since oil prices are at a all time high and they still are not pumbing i suspect it as more to do with regulations, fees and other hinderances by governmental agencies

It sure would be if those wells were in California. Can't build a dang bird house for all the paperwork and permission slips you gotta get.

Yeah, it does ! The chili burns your
butt, and the methane from your fumes would also burn it ! Ever seen anyone do 'pyro-flatulence', where someone lights one up ?

If you've never seen it done and
want a good laugh, watch the restaurant scene from the movie
'The Klumps', where they nearly
(accidentally) burn it down !

In the 60s we called it a blue flame. We’re tent camping in 63 at la costa beach Ca for surfing, and one night a couple of girls were in the tent with 4 of us guys and one guy lit one off and the girls laughed the hardest. The next morning when we were dumping our empty beer cans their parents saw us and that was the end of the girls visiting our camp site. Oh to be a teen anger again!!! Fish

I can't speak for others' intentions,
but if there are other, older vets
like myself (with similar attitudes)
out there who are literally physically
ill to their stomachs from seeing our
beautiful country so badly abused
by this administration, his time may
be much shorter than he thinks (and that goes for his cohorts, as well) !

you are aware sites like this are monitored so to prevent a knock on the door in the middle of the night you might clarify that you were of course referring to his being removed from office early due to mental slowness and his cohorts removed because of criminal activities and a republican controlled senate and congress come November who will be able to do their own investigation. Right Big A that is what you were referring to

Man DC I’d hate to have a back fire up through the carburetor on that contraption, it’d singe the dinkleberries right off your harry hiney!

Nope ! And not saying I would be
the one to do so, but some other, senior vet out there who's better armed (and with more/better
financial resources) might get
as fed up as I am and take it upon themselves to put an end to this
tom-foolery and the idiots in charge !

As far as them monitoring us, at my age I'm not all that concerned about my mortality - never expected to see 35, and here I am at 73 (like 38 bonus years) ! Was looking on a site called 'Been Verified' for info on a former friend to try and re-connect -
on a lark, I decided to do a search
on myself and found out I'm already on somebody's watch list, so if
they're monitoring this and can
read my posts, I can tell them to
'GET BENT' ! 😝

(And THAT is as polite as I can
state it for this Forum !)

That tale reminds me of the time, my freshman year of college, and we're all sitting around the TV room in the dorm (all guys) and someone decided to light their fart. Most of us had not seen it done, nor thought of doing so.
Over the next few minutes, several guys managed to light one and we each got a chuckle out of the crude scene. My buddy Steve enters the room and takes note of the activity and proudly announces that he's "got a big one for us !". Sits in a folding chair, throws one arm around his knees, holding them up in the air, whips the Zippo lighter off the end table and says "Here 'ya go gents !", strikes the lighter.....and sure enough...biggest bluish flash of the evening......followed by a scream like a little girl seeing the biggest spider she's ever seen.

Seems that Steve had failed to consider that everyone sitting around had sweatpants or cotton gym shorts on...... Steve had a pair of bright orange (one of Baker Univ's colors) NYLON GYM SHORTS !
While they didn't burst into flames as one might imagine, they did manage to MELT JUST ENOUGH TO TOTALLY "SHRINKWRAP" HIS PRIVATES PERFECTLY !!!
So much for going "commando", huh ?.... hehehe.

As a college freshman ANYWHERE, you'd like to think that your first memorable impression that you make on your peers is one that places you in a good light. Not so for poor Steve. We were roommates at the fraternity house the next year (freshman live in the dorm) and the first night we moved in, the House president was checking on the sophomores, as they moved in. Stuck his head in the door and said "Welcome guys....and, oh... Steve, we often have girls watching TV with us, so please....NO GOING COMMANDO WHEN YOU ARE THERE AND CERTAINLY NO ANTICS LIKE I"VE HEARD ABOUT, OK ?
He's still getting ribbed about it, now 50 years later !

Thanks for the memory jog !
