Caught a few little guys yesterday Tight Lining, caught 4 in 6 casts and then this. Fought this guy for around 10 minutes or so before I got it in the boat. Quite the tug on 4 pound test and that long tight line rod. Made my wrist sore so I called it an early day.

Ivey nice catching πŸ‘ I'm wondering what does the header 3/24/22 mean was I abducted?

You Fly I have a technique for that too. I walk back to the drivers seat during the fight and sit down, that puts me a lot closer to the fish when it gets close to the boat. You can cup a fish with your hand under the belly and lift it out for the water and they don't fight at all, sometimes. This was one of those guys.

I always noticed that with all smallies I've boated strange the like just go limpπŸ˜€πŸ‘

The population has got down a good bit and the size has gone down with it. I didn't weigh it but i'm guessing 7# or so maybe a little more. I know when it first hit it acted like it weighed 20.

Ivey....What is the size limit to keep on Tims Ford? So you released it rather than eating it? Can you tell all the lure you used? How much of the fish you catch do you release or eat?

We have an 18" limit on Smallmouth and 15" on Largemouth. I rarely ever keep a bass to eat unless it's hooked deep and I really think it won't live all the Smallmouth go back. All the Crappie I catch over 12" goes in the freezer or are eaten that night. Hybrids and Stripers are 50/50 depending on how big they are sometimes I keep them sometimes I release them anything over 5 to 6 pounds go back, plus my neighbor gets some of them too.

The only lure I've used this winter that has caught fish is a Roboworm Alive minnow in the Prism Shad color fished tight line on a 3/32oz. lead aspirin head jig.
