We have them also mainly in the lakes
No photo as it was caught before cell phones and was not carrying a camera but I caught a βstargazerβ while fly fishing the back side of Holgate on Long Beach Island

Thank you for the clarification...that was indeed a hellbender. Not sure if they are vicious, but it seemed scary enough for me not to mess around with it! There must be some reason they got that name!
One thing for sure, we had been camping with 4 other families, and there were 10 children between us all. After I brought this back to camp, and told them where I caught it, everybody was "done" swimming for the rest of the trip! Kind of like the "Jaws" phenomenon!
Sea robins are pretty ugly.
