Fun fish to catch, I don't release them. I was told they stir up the silt and mud smothering the game fish eggs.

I don't release them either. Their roe is outstanding. I bury the carcass. At least I used to. I have not fished in good carp water for a lot of years. I am looking forward keeping a few from Banks lake next summer to jerky. I was told it is pretty good if taken from a cold lake and all the dark meat removed. I am always open to try something new. Besides, I will have the smoker set up for whitefish, another new experience.

No more than any other fish, just another wise tale against them. Carp were brought here around 1831 and by now they have adapted to our fisheries , but even if throw up on the bank like a lot people do they really don't go to waste because some critter will come along and eat them.

The exotic culinary world really sucks if you don't like chicken.

Arrived hundreds of carp at annual carp shoot for several rears. Was fun throwing them in dumpster provided. Never got one over 20 lbs but some were 30 plus
