Stripers are 1st! Pike and Muskies are a close 2nd… both fight like hell, tail slap, and jump

My favorite species has to be jumbo yellow perch. The world record is only about three pounds so I don’t need big gear. Lol
Musky, all other fish are just bait!
Most fun catching, striped bass in the surf , it was one inch short so couldn't keep. Best tasting...cod and hake from 200ft off the coast of Camp Ellis, Maine.

I agree love carp fishing they fight like crazy, I use dough bait what do you use. Been trying hair rigs but no luck yet
Dough balls or corn kernels work for me most of the time.
For me it would have to be steelhead fighting those fish with light tackle against the flow of the river is pure adrenaline
If they are for eating, you can’t get better then Crappie. Enid and Grenada Reservoirs in Mississippi are Great Lakes for catching them. We have to release any under 12”.
This is a good question. I think the most fun fish to catch are good tuna, bluefin etc. in the 20-30lb class. As far as eating, rockfish is one of my favorite.
Wild Yooper Brookies, and rainbows. For their size, they fight well, and to me, are the best tasting fish, especially when simply dredged in flour, and fried to golden brown, and crispy skins. They have to be wild, not planted, with that beautiful orange flesh. Planted fish just don't taste as good. Sadly, I'm no longer in physical shape to walk a Upper Peninsula stream, and fish the holes. Fishing for fun, steelhead are my favorite fish to catch.

Atlantic salmon and Tarpon on a fly rod a very close one and two
I definitely agree, Smallmouth is by far my favorite
12" bluegills or14 or 15" crappies on a uraltrlight 7' pole 2lb. test.
