I like common sense, and the Ben Franklin approach.

Let me be clear - this post is NOT about race or race relations. Okay, got that out of the way. Hopefully.

The older I get the more questions I have about a variety of things. I used to be a black and white guy. No shades of gray. Things were either right or wrong. This way or that way.

As I got older, I realized people and circumstances aren't that simple. There are plenty of reasons why things happen or why people behave a certain way.

If you have things all figured out in your life, more power to you. If you know the answer to everything, fantastic. I don't.

I'm amazed by the number of people that do. They know everything and have all the right answers to life's questions. They are seldom if ever, wrong. Ask them.

Are you one those people? Be honest. Just asking.

There's a whole lot of gray in this world.

My father told me once I’ve only made one mistake in my life”
Me—Gulp! What?
Dad—That’s when I thought I made one!
If you’ve got it all figured out your living between the lines.
I thought I knew a hell of a lot until I learned a lot about hell

The world was all black and white when I knew everything and had it all figured out. That was when I was about 18. Every day since then, I learn something. Usually humility. It stings a bit to be RIGHT and then find out that you weren't.

Mostly guys from work, and a few I used to hang out with Fin. I couldn't take it anymore, so I avoid them when I can. You can show people only so much, and when they deny what they see with their own two eyes, I throw in the towel. Life's too short to get another ulcer, dealing with know it alls.

Yep one has to walk the walk and talk the talk Griz, more so when among the youngins than in our everyday goings.

Then again it sure doesn't hurt to do it 24/7.

Very true Plum. Young minds n some not so young are more easily impressed with what they see than what they hear 👍👍

"Would you rather be right or would you rather be happy?" - Dr. Phil. As a side note, most people when asked said they would rather be right. Interesting.

Including Dr. Phil. I personally can't stand his arrogance. Goes back to all the college classes in the world doesn't give anyone the ability to fully understand everyone's emotions. Instead of saying right way or wrong way I'll say right thing wrong thing. Everyone should know right n wrong. How they go about getting it right depends on them n the circumstances they are dealing with. If we all resolved issues the same way this would be a perfect world or hell on earth. I don't say if I was you. I'm not you all I can do is listen. It's like any what if in life. Don't judge others unless you like people judging you. Live n let live. 👍

Hey Greg. I believe there are a few things that are" Black and White" and some are "Grey". To say ALL things are one way or another is bein very arrogant I believe.
None of us knows everything. One should be careful when telling someone they're "right" or they're "wrong" in their actions or beliefs.
They may be wrong for the way you believe or would act but you're not them.
For those of us that call ourselves "Christians", and believe that all scripture in the Bible is all "God breathed", have a different understanding of life, beliefs and actions than do non believers. Therefore our actions should reflect our beliefs.
When Jesus said "Love your neighbor as yourself " I think he was saying that even though we wouldn't say or do what our neighbor is saying and doing we are to forgive them and understand that it's "free will" and the Fathers place to judge, not ours.
Live your life in such a manner that others KNOW that if they say things against you that it's false.
Let your speech and actions be righteous so the unrighteous can't use anything against you.
After we've told others the good news about Jesus it's up to that individual to accept Christ as their Savior. After that all we can do is show them an example of living a Godly life.
God is in charge of miracles, not us. So don't try to change anybody yourself. Give them the good news of Christ and leave the rest up to God. At that point it's their choice not yours and all we can do is show them love.
Therefore, "Love your neighbor as yourself", and treat others as you would like to be treated. Saw1.

Sorry guys, didn't mean to go on and on.
I definitely don't know everything and hope I've never given anybody the impression that I think I do. Steve.
