You have that right Fred! I have been with my company for 32 years, the last 23 have been behind a computer as I foolishly moved up the โladderโ. By the time the weekend arrives I am mentally exhausted. I had more time and energy when I was doing the physical stuff assembling and testing the machines. Before that I drove a semi delivering furniture for some large stores for about 10 years, worked as a Masonโs laborer, drove a skidder and worked in the Black Hills as a logger and thinning contractor for a couple more before moving home, getting married and starting at my current company. I was much happier back in the day when I could work with my hands and at the end of the day actually see what I had accomplished. I had more time to play golf and softball, fish and hunt, too. However, all my choices were not good ones and I have the new replacement body parts to show for it ๐

Work comes and goes. Sometimes busy, sometimes not so busy. What do you working people do to get your paycheck? I work for a small property management company. Mostly take in monthly or annual dues and make sure things keep working and fix them when the don't.

Well, I've had a number of 'career' jobs; and always left for a better position, with more money and responsibility! To make this as brief as possible I spent the last 32 years as a stockbroker and financial advisor, ending up as Senior VP with Morgan Stanley. This period was from 1985 until the end of 2017.
My partner and I were managing close to 1/2 billion dollars in assets, mostly in equities and muni bonds, with some commodities, such as oil and gas futures. Upon my retirement, i sold half of the partnership to her. Thank God for Fishing Forum/Stages. if it had not been for you guys, I would have been a raving loonie during the quarantine.
