to my buddy to hunt birds (pheasants) and bucks later in the afternoon. Shortly after my friend and coworker at the shop(Blaine) asked me if I wanted to go fishing with him and his brother. Well, I couldn’t deny my previous commitment. Birds and bucks were were a bust but the boys did pretty well on the lake.

Don’t feel too bad bk! I’m sure your hunting buddy appreciated your company. You know what they say about that bear! Better luck next time whether it’s fishing or hunting.😎

That looks like a decision that I would have made. I would have honored my first commitment and would have been in the short end of the stick also. But then again you were a man of your word and that is the most important

Thanks Papa, I’ve always stuck to my word all though it sometimes hurts a bit. My friend and I had a great day had a great and full day afield but no success in the game department. Ended the day at a local tavern for clam night and a couple of beers. Had a good day of fun together.

Nice!! I've never had perch or crappie yet, I hear they are great. I've just never been lucky enough to catch any perch big enough and never once caught a crappie. But I guarantee I'll be eating some if I ever do.

To Troutman78 - You seem like a relative 'newbie' to the Stage, so
WELCOME ABOARD !

Might be a good idea to add your location to your avatar - it helps
others to know what bodies of
water you may be fishing so that
you can get good help and/or tips from members in your immediate
area should you need them !

Nice catch. More important, getting out in the field, either on the water or tree stand is never a bad decision. It may be a learning decision, but not a bad decision.

Welcome to the Stage Troutman, it appears I missed your other posts! You are dead on, Crappie and Perch are definitely 2 of my Top favorites for flavor! Good luck and send us some pics when you catch them!

I seem to do a lot of those wrong choices RJS, such as getting into the slow line at the bank.

That may be a franchise. I do that too. I’ve even suggested to people on line behind me that they might want to move. My wife gave me a tip that’s helped a lot……choose the female clerks because they work faster. She’s right.
