Going on a cruise in December stopping at a private cruise island Norwegian owns their is a shore excursion for fishing. Wondering if anyone has gone on one of the trips
Lumpy14: No, but I wish I had known about it years ago. Sounds like an excellent opportunity to get both a cruise and a fishing trip together. Hopefully, someone will take the cruise and report on their results. Just Sayin...RJS
Been on ship trips not as happy as trips I arranged myself and was all setup when I arrived. But that was Mexico. Best one was spontaneous in Mex. Got of the ship and walked to the fishing dock. Rented a Pangea and spent a couple hours catching smaller Tuna. I told the guy time to quite. I was pooped out.
Charlie: That sounds like my kind of trip. Fish until it becomes work! Just Sayin...RJS

FYI ask and research the exact location your going to fish. There is a lot of areas there that are highly polluted. Unsafe for human consumption. Enjoy the fishing just be sure to do your own research way before getting there. Have fun and hook em. I really enjoy cruises. I have a good buddy that lived there for several years and he has since moved back to Eastern Oregon. The fishing can be excellent in Belize I just remember the poison warnings when I was checking on fishng.
I fished Belize in 2007. All inside the reef. Key Calker split at night. Hurricane Hattie cut the Island in half in 1963 and created the "split". It is the happening place at night for viewing the water life with the tide changes or throwing a line in. Tarpon on a shrimp fly. Off the docks for Barracuda and in the flats for Snook. I fished from a kayak at night out of Placentia and had a lot of action but got spooked by the crocodile eyes in my headlamp so I came in. They told me later the crocs get rather large, like longer than my kayak. Take whatever you can down there, it's a lifetime experience.
I think I may still some pics. of Crocs that looked like 2 man Minnie subs. Just sunning on the river bank.
Well, I would love to fish Belize, but am not wild about competing against crocks that are longer than most kayaks! That is just more challenge that I would like. Just Sayin...RJS

Yeah I belize it was probably saltwater.
It’s a catch and release only

Good. I had researched and found most places are due to toxic meat.

Went on a dive trip there many years ago, beautiful diving, not so much the place we stayed. It's bee a long time and we went with a dive club so can't be much help on fishing, this was the first site we say when we got in the water.

Like Ivey, I was more into diving back when I was there. Great diving if you are certified. Did do some trolling from a sailboat we were on and picked up a nice 35lb tuna. Ate it on the fantail that nite
