I've used ProCure in its various flavors and I think it does help for some species. Hardhead cats love it and whiting like it too. I'm hearing talk around here (South Texas) that the new big thing is Ballyho Oil for Red Drum. Rumor at this point but I suppose if I come across some in a bait shop somewhere, I'll probably buy some and try it.

Hey there Billy,
Saw that one coming from around the corner 😜

Most scents add to your experience.
Scents are like walking down through the shopping mall. Some girls you pass smell really good, and you turn your head and maybe even check them out.

You can even catch large mouth bass with a plastic worm dipped in gasoline.

Bug spray with deet will most definitely turn fish away. Be careful!

Dip a plastic worm in gas and watch what happens with it ,,,,,

Straight WD-40

I used to use WD-40 on chicken breast cut in small chunks years back.We used to catch weakfish on it, before you could only keep 1 in New Jersey. I would cut it a day or 2 before I went fishing to let it soak in. Brother and I would do well off jetty at Reeds Beach.

Huge proponent of scents. They truly make a difference. Hands down, the most successful scent I have found is Smelly Jelly, in garlic. And yes, both fresh & saltwater usage.

JB have you ever made your own smelly jelly? I made some in 7 different flavors. Haven't got to try them out yet. 👍

I haven’t. I try my very best to not handle that stinky stuff so I don’t have ever cat & dog chasing me home ! Lol. But I have literally tried almost every scent out there… and nothing has worked as good as the smelly jelly in garlic. It makes no sense to me why garlic. One would think more natural scents like shrimp, anchovy, etc would work. But “garlic” scent will make a believer out of you. I would be curious what your scents will produce.

I was not getting any hits fishing for trout, I was fishing at a pond. I rubbed my hands with mud from the bank and rinsed with water from the pond and I started getting hits and I ended with my limit.
