When I was younger Plum, I didn't notice till the snow started falling. Now a 3 or 4 degree drop and I'm looking for a long sleeved shirt. It's not so bad if you get a steady gradual cool down, but lately we've been all over the place, in the fall and spring. Mid January to the end of February usually suck the worst. I don't take anything below 25° very well anymore.

When i settled in NC the last 4 years retirement the locals were bundled up at 50*. I thought they had lost it. Well after my 1st winter there flannel sheets on the bed and sweat pants were the night and day attire to be had.

Now that i am back in MD got to to get use to it all over again. Don't know about that 25* you mention.

Sounds like a nice day Fred. I know you would have wanted to catch more, but you always catch something. It seems like it has been a rough year, both size and quantity. Have a good week buddy

Nice fish, Fred. Yes, the weather has really been up and down. Think it's all that space junk floating around messing things up. 500,000 pieces of debris out there. Seems like humans just don't know how to take care of a beautiful thing.

Thanks Kandy, I don't think I want to take one of those civilian space flights. With my luck, I'd hit it all. LOL.

Nice fish Fred. Beautiful lake. Hopefully you get at least one really good day before it gets too cold. Our summer was so hot and dry this year, I found myself wishing it was ice fishing season. I’m sure when it’s actually ice fishing time I’ll be missing the hot weather.

Thanks DC, it is a beautiful lake, but even a swim jig didn't work today. This Mashapaug is in Union CT, and is about 3/4surrounded by State park/forest. The North West shore has some houses, and 2 of the islands have summer homes on them

Hey Fred
How do you fish a swim jig. I picked up a few but don’t know best way to work them. I usually end up just fishing it on the bottom like a regular jig ☹️
I’m not all that good with the smaller swimbaits either 😅
Thanks,

The couple I have RedA are kinda heavy,1/2oz. so they run deep. I usually fish them on a dropoff, either from shallow water over the drop, or parallel to the drop.Cast them out, guesstimate when they're at the proper depth, and retrieve. If a straight retrieve doesn't draw a strike, I'll yo-yo the retrieve, speeding up and slowing down. I really should pick up a couple lighter ones. Sunday I threw a Hack Attack in Bluegill, with a Bluegill Blade Minnow trailer. Unsuccessfully by the way. I'll look for a picture.

Second from the left is the one I threw Sunday
