Bass and trout have great eyesight button low visibility water I think sent definitely helps if anything it gets the human smell off your jig or Bait

OK, here's one more secret of mine.
When fishin anyplace that has fennel growin there I always strip some of the leaves off and rub/grind it into my hands so they smell of fennel. It smells like anise, which smells like licorice. Really helps take all other smells off your hands for handlin soft plastics like worms, senkos and swimbaits. It works for me anyway.

Thanks Saw I'm going to try that with some of the abundance of Basil I grew it went to flower

years ago i began using "WD-40" as a fish attractant on plastic worms; years later i continue to use it. i do believe it really works. tight lines.

Thank you for the information I got away from freshwater bass fishing I do so much salt water fishing these days here in San Diego became a surface iron addict in the winter great trout fishing in these small lakes Mount Lassen trout they're all 2 6 lb was some real big ones in the mix well fishing at Santee lakes kid right next to me fishing a rattle trap I'm 6 lb test caught a 15-4 largemouth but still I catch so many calico Bass on the surface iron what's some really big yellow tail

Will do haven't done much trout fishing since Spring but the fall fishing is right around the corner along with Striper migration looking forward to some quiet times again on the ponds also going to be a busy fishing FALL hope to have some great stories to tell Yaz all🐟🐟🐟🐟🎣😀👍

I would think with all the fishing pressure pond and lakes have been getting it sure can't hurt I like using it on hardbaits

I use a Berkeley sent 4 a long time I think it works pretty good but I've had better luck with that bang at least I'm catching fish nobody uses surface iron fishing I was using it Rock fishing on a Colt sniper I think it help a lot I primarily call fish mini jigs for trout hook up Baits work really well especially with bang on them

I don’t use them anymore. My son still does. He uses a brand called spike it. The garlic scent. Makes my boat smell like an Italian restaraunt when he gets a little spray on my boat carpet. Smell goes away after a day or 2. I believe he does it on purpose to try to rile me up. Also, I can’t honestly say one way or another if they help when bass fishing. Since I make my own soft plastic baits , I usually add a little salt to the plastic before I heat it and shoot it into a bait mold. I believe bass can taste, and I believe when they bite something real they will get a salt ( blood) taste. I use popcorn salt. It adds weight to the plastic also. There are numerous commercial brands that add salt in 1 form or another to their plastic baits.....My 2cents...

I use bang spray. Got me using it the day I was not getting any bites bass fishing. Sprayed crawdad bang spray on my soft plastic and boom started hooking up fish. Just my experience
