Anyone who catches and eats frogs, do you only eat the legs or are there any other parts worth eating? Is the fat on the body edible?

I take kitchen sheers and cut open the belly after I skin the bullfrog, gut it , cut off the head and all four feet. When it is split open you need to pull the tendon cords out of each leg that way when you cook it it won't jump in the pan. I dredge the whole frog in a flour, salt, and pepper mixture and then brown it then I put a lid on the pan and let it steam until it is tender.

They are not hard to catch. Go out at night with a flash light, shine it in their eyes and grab em throw em in a sack. If you've never eaten frog, it is a very mild flavored meat, I'd say it's pretty bland. Folks say it tastes like chicken. Not to me. Don't taste like much of anything. Ever eaten octopus? Kinda like that. It tastes like whatever you cook it in - not a strong flavor at all.

When kids we kill sacks full with our pellet guns. Have to shoot them in the head and they will float. Ate only the legs, Mom made them taste good.

Only the legs usually. Nicknamed field chicken. Some Chinese use the whole frog for soup. Be advised to stick to the legs - some parts are said to be "a minefield of toxins". The most often eaten frog in the US is the bullfrog. Only a few other types of American frogs are eaten, not all.

I have only eaten the legs, make sure to skin them first. Caught them using a red match tip on a hook, anything red will work. Mainly used light and frog gig at night. I think they have a good taste. Last time I ate them was in Louisiana on vacation along with some camion. Good Stuff
