I would recommend everyone trying a different type of bait so you can get more input on what the fish are doing. Top waters early/or cloudy, buzz bait, crank baits, swim baits, spinner baits, and a worm or some type. These would give you a strong fishing report in little time.

Can you get a Lake map of where you are going? It is nice to know where the drop offs are underwater. The Bass like to stay against the sides of the drop off to hide from the other fish so they can go up and nail them. Other than that look for structure where again they can hide and attack from.

Use very small jigs with curly tails if there are blue gills or crappie around they will bite it. When the water gets really hot you need to find a shady area in the shade of a tree or something under a dock or board walk anywhere they can have shade and cover. Good luck. Maybe tip the jigs with a bit of nite crawler also.
