very nice boat PapaJ and this will be great for the family. I told my son That I would go in with him to share a cost on one. Very nice boat.🇺🇸🇺🇸🇺🇸

I think it will be more what we need. I have two grandkids and the other boat just wasn't good for them. AND...my wife already has plans to take her girl friends out on the lake. I may have to reserve days so I can use the boat!

The pontoon is the best type of boat for the family and safer for small children🇺🇸🇺🇸🇺🇸

The nice thing is that the longer boat/trailer combo will be easier to back up as your sight lines will be that much better. I drove a semi and the 53’ trailers were easier to back up than the shorter units. Just remember…a little adjustment of the wheel goes a LONG way 😉

Oh so true.

PapaJ, WOW, really looks comfortable and not toooo long for maneuvering. Ought to really move along with that 150. Most of us are jealous I suppose!!!!

It's only been 3 weeks since I placed my order for my new boat. My dealer said that "it might be here by Thanksgiving but more likely Christmas." I'm trying to be patient but that's not really my strong suit.

Hopefully we will have some of those beautiful days that we occasionally get in January and I'll be able to take the boat out for the break in period. I suspect I will need to do a lot of parking lot practicing backing this thing as it is a lot longer and MUCH taller than my previous boats.

Oh well, thanks for listening to me whine. Have a great day my friends.

I found that longer boats are easier to back up, they don't turn as quickly as a short boat and give you more time to react to where they are headed !

Try using LED rope lights and create a runway into your parking space.
This way yo can use your mirrors and not kill your neck.
Also put one of the concrete parking stops in back so you know when to stop.

If you don't mind a little spray paint on your driveway, it makes it real easy to back in knowing you marked it ahead of time to insure a safe way in. I do that with my RV to get into a real close space under my shop awning.

PapaJ why did you buy a 150hp motor? I have rented a pontoon boat for fishing and it had a 40hp motor that got us around as fast as we needed for fishing. Do you plan to pull skiers? I suspect the answer is you plan on fishing bigger lakes and rivers so you need to go fast. How fast can you go with several on board?

Why a 150hp? Because it was the biggest I cold get on the pontoon. :)

Actually it was to pull the grandkids on tubes and eventually on skis.

Hey buddy. I think you made a wonderful choice. That 150 should be plenty of motor for tubing and skiing. Plus it should be big enough to get you from point a to point b in a hurry. Specially if you want/need to get off the lake in a hurry. Congrats brother. Hope it gets there soon.

Hey Papa J,congratulations on the new boat,I got mine in 2017 and other than the cost have been enjoying it ever since. As far as the backing goes I am a retired truck driver and I've driven 28 foot doubles and triples and 53 foot single trailers and the longer trailers are easier to line up. You will do fine I am sure. The height will probably be your biggest adjustment. 🙂
