Just bought a new kayak! Where’s the best place to launch? What is the best to use live bait or artificial?
Hey Bill
PM me. I don’t kayak fish but my brother does a lot.
I can get you in contact with him.
Congratulations on getting into fishing via the kayak! Opens up a while new horizon and can be very stealthy! Hopefully you will be able to discover numerous public access places where you can drive up close to the water and launch. Nice thing about kayaks is that you can also slip in from just about anyplace that is open to the public and does not have ramp access. Good luck on your first adventure!
Fishyaker thanks for that. Can’t wait! I hope Kaiser lake is successful!

Congrats Bill, fellow kayaker myself. Do you have a pic of that yak. Like to see how others fix theirs up.

42 lbs that is small, or just light weight. What waters are you fishing?
Caesar Creek. Cowan lake so far. Can’t wait to river fish.

I just googled it, looks like a lake and if the winds aren't bad that yak should do just fine.
For river fishing make sure you have at least 1 anchor, 2 is what i carry for each side to maintain pointing at my target while the current may push you away.
Hey plumbob. Do you use an anchor trolly?

No i didn't want to drill more holes in the yak. I use two 5 lb dumbbells'. One on each side of the seat. Most times i just use one but if the current is moving fast 2 are needed.
Plumbob - bill thanks for your feedback.Appreciate it.

Sure thing you are welcome. If possible post a pic of your yak. Sounds interesting at that weight.
