Caution: There are TWO STABIL PRODUCTS. The RED STABIL is for STORAGE. The Stabil Marine is GREEN and counteracts the effects of ethanol, therefore the option to buy the more expensive neat 91 or the 87 octane ethanol and add STABIL MARINE.
Thanks, did not know that. I guess I just always looking at storage. A marine dealer was who recommended the Startron for that during the season, not totally convinced yet. I am lucky to have 3 gas stations nearby that have the 91,no eth, but I'll grab a bottle just in case I need gas on a trip... thanks.
Thanks was just getting ready to order.

I purchased a Suzuki 9.9hp motor. The reason I went up to the 9.9hp is it has electronic fuel injection (EFI) rather then a motor with a carburetor and I’m sure glad I did. It runs like a car...starts right up and idles down perfectly.

DonaldRotter80 is right, Ethanol is a killer of boat motors and also small engines like yard blowers, snow blowers, chain saws, etc. Ask me how I know. I first saw Ethanol in action the humid day I replaced an outboard fuel line. I drained the line fuel into a clear plastic cup, thinking I would add the gas back to the tank later. As I was working I noticed that the gas was getting cloudy looking. Curious, I picked up the cup and as I swirled the gas it got more and more cloudy from absorbing moisture. Later I saw some of the water had even settled out. Ethanol [alcohol] absorbs water and during periods of non use the alcohol evaporates leaving the water to corrode the small passages in the zinc body of your carburetor and the brass jet that controls how much fuel is dispensed in it. I was able to save one jet but they were 100% closed with green corrosion. I also had an older Mercury carb and fuel filter get totally plugged with rubber bits from the fuel hoses around the carb that were, at that time, not designed to resist alcohol. Moral of The Story: There is no treatment you can buy to prevent alcohol absorption so do yourself a favor and always use NO alcohol gas.
An old guide friend used to say, “Put the cheap gas in your car and the good gas in your boat.”
