Not gonna lie, the worms are pretty gross and it would be nice not to have to deal with them every single time. Are there any meats/vegetables I can use that I might have in the house that are fairly all purpose like worms are? Or does that bait have to “look alive” to attract the fish?
I was thinking of putting some corn kernels on the hook, or maybe some chopped up salmon. I don’t want to get into lures yet because I really get how you’re supposed to know which lures to use. Also whenever I go fishing with this one guy who always uses lures, about 45 mins in he consistently says “I’m gonna switch to worms, they’re not biting” and then he gets a bunch of bites.

Take your bag of Yum, Zoom or other plastic (NOT-ElazTech) worms; put a few drops in the bag or in a ziploc containing the plastic worms, close the bag, massage to distribute scent, marinate overnight, and you're good to go!
