Anyone use canned anchovies in fresh water? Results?
I’ve never used canned anchovies in any kind of fishing good luck 🍀 I’ve used cured anchovies and shrimp 🍤 and found them to work again good luck 👍
They probably won’t even stay on the hook

Yeah, that would be my guess... They're subject to just break apart, as soon as you try to thread'em on a hook!

If legal---puch holes in the can and tether it near you in the water. Might chum up some catfish.
We use frozen anchovies. Get them in a box or bag. Even the super market has them in bags, for bait that is.

There was something posted about brining some sort of bait, several months back... As I recall, one of the most important ingredients was "Kosher Salt", or, if not Kosher, to at least be sure that you use salt that has NOT been "Iodized". (¿Or was THAT about "preserving" fish, minus ice/ refrigeration?) ... I Know that salt works well at preserving fish for human consumption, for up to a week; because I myself have done it, while living outdoors and looking for work.
