Now that’s what I’m talking about. 😀
I miss the trout and kokanee. We don’t have em in our lake.
Maybe not your lake but there are several good places to catch trout in Bama. In fact, there is a "Bama Brook Trout" many say fight harder than a river smallie.

We have wonderful fishing in Idaho yet there is no listing for Idaho in any section, so I thought I would start one. We are Sturgeon Fishing in the Snake River tomorrow. There are 8-9’ fish in the area and I look forward to meeting some. Taking my wife and son out with a guide from Jones Sports Fishing.
We have an Allied Mustang P19 HT set up with downriggers. Last Wednesday we were Kokanee fishing at ANDERSON Ranch Reservoir and the week before at Lucky Peak. Just booked a trip to Lake Cour d Alene for the first week in August for Chinook Salmon and Kokanee. There are a lot of streams and rivers to Fly fish but I prefer the comfort of boat fishing. We are planning some Columbia River Sturgeon fishing trips for fall with local fishing keeping us busy in the meantime.
Now we have a place to share Idaho fishing stories.

Nice! Idaho definitely needs its' own section! I lived in Caldwell, ID for 18 months and fished almost every weekend! Great fisheries up there. CJ Strike, Swan Falls, McCall, Cascade, Snake River, Salmon and the Little Salmon, Horseshoe Bend, Rotary Ponds, Sagehen, Warm Lake... just to name a few that I have been to.

More than fishing... it's a sportsman's paradise! As long as you get your Elk early so you can get to Texas or Florida ASAP. Then return to Idaho in late April, early May. Lol

Today’s Snake River Sturgeon. My son caught a 6.5’, his first. I caught a 5’ fish. Great trip with Jones Sportsfishing. Our guide, Bret Jones, did a great job.
That's what I call one bent rod! What a day. Thanks for pics. Do they let you keep any from the Snake or is it 100% C & R. I love eating Sturgeon and the list of fish I eat is pretty darn short.
C&R only. At least you don’t have to clean them when the day is over. We saw some monster fish on the sonar so we know they are there. My son has always wanted to Sturgeon fish so this was his birthday gift, a guided trip and a rod and real. We fish this same lake so now that we know how/where, we can go at any time and perfect our skills. We fished for 9 1/2 hours to get these two fish. I like big fish.

Great pictures. Thanks for sharing
Trip to Lucky Peak Reservoir this week. Dinner for six achieved. Kokanee Salmon. Yummy
Just got a reservation for August 1st-6th. Staying a Cour D Alene lake and fishing for Chinook Salmon. Really excited to spend time learning the lake and HOPEFULLY catching some nice fish. Anyone with suggestions and fishing secrete, please chime in. Pictures to come.
No help but that trip is on my bucket list. Good luck!
