We have wonderful fishing in Idaho yet there is no listing for Idaho in any section, so I thought I would start one. We are Sturgeon Fishing in the Snake River tomorrow. There are 8-9’ fish in the area and I look forward to meeting some. Taking my wife and son out with a guide from Jones Sports Fishing.
We have an Allied Mustang P19 HT set up with downriggers. Last Wednesday we were Kokanee fishing at ANDERSON Ranch Reservoir and the week before at Lucky Peak. Just booked a trip to Lake Cour d Alene for the first week in August for Chinook Salmon and Kokanee. There are a lot of streams and rivers to Fly fish but I prefer the comfort of boat fishing. We are planning some Columbia River Sturgeon fishing trips for fall with local fishing keeping us busy in the meantime.
Now we have a place to share Idaho fishing stories.

Sounds like some really nice trips planned Mustang. Remember, we love pictures.
Here are a couple fat Kokes that my wife caught along with a decent Rainbow.
Very nice, nice smile.:-)

Now that’s what I’m talking about. 😀
I miss the trout and kokanee. We don’t have em in our lake.
I hope to have some nice Sturgeon pictures tomorrow. I’ve never been before but I do take my boat to the area. Once I learn how, I’ll go all the time. I spoke to the guide a bit ago. He was going out Crappie fishing so we would have some fresh bait. Sounds like a good and crazy guide. Should be a blast.

I concur. I’m in Riggins. We’re slaying the springers on the little salmon right now. I’ve done a ton of sturgeon fishing on the Columbia. You’ll have a great time down there and you have the perfect boat for it. They’re easy to catch once you figure out where they are. look for deep holes just below waterfalls prior to the dams being built on the Columbia and eat your Wheaties. We caught one just below the boat ramp in The Dalles that was 17 feet and 1500 pounds. Some great sturgeon fishing behind Miller Island just below Biggs junction as well and no barge traffic on the Washington side of the island. Sturgeon are sturgeon so you’ll learn a great deal on your guided trip. Good luck. We’re headed to Cascade Lake in Cascade for a week of jumbo perch fishing.
Cascade should be nice. I have elk hunted in the area but never fished. Looking forward to exploring lakes like Cascade. Many choices here and in Idaho. Have a great time.

Cascade lake holds the world record for Jumbo perch. I’ve come close a few times with 3 pound 16 plus inchers. There’s big Rainbows up to 8 pounders have been caught there. We caught a wild steelhead through the ice last year as well. Kamaloop trout, small mouth bass up in the 4 pound range. Lots of Chanel cats. Tiger Muskie and they’re catching som lakers there now. A few large mouth too. It’s a Great Lake for lots of different fishing. The elk hunting is awesome around there for sure. Gotta love idaho.
Tiger Muski on my list. Giant Rainbows and cats too. I was not aware of the diversity of the lake. I’m going to have to plan a trip. Thanks for the motivation.
Thanks for posting, and for the pictures. I need to get over to your side of the state. I have always wanted to fish Cascade. And I love catfishing but have never fished the Snake for them.
Surgeon seem like to much work to me. I don't have any poles big enough to try them.
Where is Cascade lake? Idaho?
