I used to catch regular catfish as a kid, been stabbed many times :). I figured out if you grab hold of them by putting the dorsal spike between my index and middle finger and place those fingers in front of the front side fin spikes then slide your thumb and the dumb finger up behind the side spikes.

You can Marinade the fish with Chipotles overnight then bread them in favorite fish breading. I won a chicken cookoff by doing this with chicken.

I love this group, It has gotten Far, Far away from stinging whiskers, Just like sitting around a camp fire drinking coffee/whisky or whatever drowns ya, eating fish, fresh caught, and talking about stinging catfish whiskers. There ain't no telling where we'll go to.
