Catfish will not hurt you if you don't stick
Yourself. They do not stick you on purpose.
You have to be the one to stick yourself.
Play with one for a while and you learn where and where not to grab. Heck all our kids catch and release catfish on a regular basis.Pliers and scissors and such are not needed.Just a frying pan and a cold beer! dirtclod Az.
How about a Frying Pan and A Trolling motor with a Beer and a Fishin' Pole?
Now that takes talent!

Jalapeno and lime Panko made by Kroger brand blended with regular cornmeal or corn meal fish breading. Its the best ever on any fish. Beer batter recipe is always good. Fresh high quality fish is the most important thing. Add fresh home made coleslaw is always very good. I am usually the cook at our Fishing or Hunting Camps let alone at home or if we go to Oregon Coast during Spring break. I always go fishing midweek at Depoe Bay and have a fish fry that evening. Its the best night of food. I usually also make a huge crock pot of home made chili early in the week. I take my own good working coffee percolator to rental houses because it really sucks when there is NOT a good coffee pot or no filters etc.
The Coleslaw is for Fish Tacos

I messed it up...I remembered last night....its actually Chipotle and Lime (smoked jalapeno) but they don't have it all the time. I am not sure if it was discontinued or just spurratic.

Grocery shopping Sat. I'll check.Fishing is out until the weather breaks.
114 deg. yesterday.Even fishing at night is way too hot,low 's in the
high 80's- low 90's.Cold tap water was 87deg. this am.!
my Niece is there at GC U. I grew up in the stupid heat of Mojave Desert. Used to go to Havasu to play for years....got to Oregon in 1993 and never missed the heat of Mojave Desert. There is a whole lot more fishing and hunting available here.....and I have seen it change for the worse so I cant imagine how much better it was here for a generation or two earlier than I. I have heard their stories of telling this isn't jack compared to 30 years ago....I know they are right.
its not Kroger brand....its Select brand
if you could find dried chipotle to add to your favorite fish breading....then fry it in thin layer of high quality oil….olive is good ...some like vegetable or canola. even crushed red peppers added to a breading will add lots of flavor... a little for people who do not like spicy food.. a bunch for those who know whats GOOD. chipotle is just smoked jalapeno. it is available usually in adoba sauce and is very hot. if you marinade the fish in it overnight or several hours then remove the chipotle dry off or leave wet from marinade to make breading stick instead of dipping in milk.
Hello my name is Chris, nice to meet You, to answer Your Question No the Whiskers are Harmless, however the 2 side fins will stab You if You don't handle them properly they are sharp bones also the Dorsal fin is the same, they certainly are tricky to handle most anglers leave them on the ground while extracting the hook! I Hope this Helped You!!!!
