Pull or cast the line off til it's gone and reel it back
when u cast pull up and reel in slack before u drop down to reel in lure . this is common when casting with lures due to lack of tension at moment of water impact with lures
Yes, the prior posts are correct. Strip off the line until you remove the loop, then rewind. No big problem, it happens to everyone sometime or other. Just Sayin...RJS
If you get a loop in your line with a spinning reel. DO NOT cast it. You will most likely end up with a tangle mess that is almost impossible to get out. Instead loosen your drag so you can pull off line real easy. As you strip the line make sure you not making a pile of line that will tangle later. If you can it is best to put stripped line in the water. Will come out tangle free Now strip line till you get to loop and problem solved. Hold line with some tension as you reel up slack. One way to help stop loops in spinning is to make sure and close bale by hand. Try and to get in the habit of always checking your spool for loops before each cast. After hours of creek fishing I have learned all of this the hard way. LOL
Closing the bail by hand as BB said helps. Also use your off hand to feather the line.
Regardless of what reel, spinning, bait casting, whatever, you are going to face some difficulty, so get used to solving those problems. It is just part and parcel of fishing with reels. Just Sayin...RJS

When I have a problem like that I'll take a quarter inch piece of dowel stick it in the end of a drill preferably a battery drill attach the end of the line to the dowel run the drill carefully wind the line across the doll until the defect is removed from the reel then reverse the process wind the line back up onto the reel kind of prevents a big mess of line all over the place
You just received very good advice. Tip up hand feather hand close. Since I've gotten to where i do that w/o thinking i don't have that problem. Also when you shouldn't reel while a fish is pulling drag. Claim that will cause line twist 👍👍
It happened to us, but we changed the line and put lighter line on the reel because we hadn't changed the line in several years. The weight probably wasn't the issue, but changing the line apparently was.

I sure like the sounds of THIS technique.... Just sounds like it'd work well.

That is how I remove the line on all my reels able man works very well thank you for your comment
Yes. As people have said, just peel off line until it reaches that point. ( it may be more like than you think). I then grab the line a few inches above the reel to create tension on the line as I reel it back in to keep it tight on the reel
