So iv been bowfishing the carp around my local lake and im having trouble finding someone that will take them or finding a good place to leave the bodies without making my park look like fishschwits, any suggestions? The average fish is about 10 lbs and above with at least a few shot everyday so theres a lot of meat there i just dont have a use for it and nobody wants them in the lake anyway so should i just throw them in the garbage? I dispatch the fish so they dont suffer btw. And can someone exppain why carp are so hated, thank you.

Maybe don't bowhunt them?
I have friends in the Sacramento Ca area that farm and all the farmers in their area don’t like Carp because they breed so much and they jam up all the water pumps for the fields and causes a lot of damage to the pumps
We used to filay them, cornmeal batter, fry them up and make great sandwiches. Much better then most people think.
Been a long time, we bow hunted too. 10lb one are good size.

Have you tried cooking them. I've always been told trash fish because they are bottom feeders. So are catfish ! I met some folks fishing that were from Ukraine. Here on visas. Good people. They were trying to catch carp. In their country a delicacy. They cut out the red veins & cut them into nugget size pieces. Old cast iron pan with olive oil & cooked them with cut up onions , salt & pepper . No batter. Really good .

Place ad on Facebook that you have them, lots of people like them. Help some people with their meals.

Yeah, I also would suggest that you try eating 1... If you don't care for it, try preparing the next one, with a different recipe/ method of cooking... If you still don't care for it, it is my understanding that many people enjoy eating them. If push comes to shove & NOBODY wants them; they absolutely DO make good fertilizer. ... ¿Why waste'm?

Hey Merc, there are a lot of folk that either will smoke them or eat them. You might go to your local bait shops and put a message on their message board for free carp with your # and I am sure you will get a call list of people.
MAS fish
I grew up on a farm in SD and we fed them to the hogs, they liked the fish and ate every morsel.

When my Mom went to the fresh fish store, there were always a few carpet swimming 8n a galvanized circulating water tank. That was so the fish would get flushed from the muddy taste they have from bottom feeding. It was sometimes common practice in even older days to let them swim in the tub a few days. In Europe, Carp, especially the head considered delicacy when prepped properly.
My personal best was 32 pounds from the Delaware River, just south of Trenton, NJ
like someone has already said....to utilize them as fertilizer for gardens, flower beds, etc.

Yeah carp are a real nuisance and need to be thinned out for sure. We used to spear em in the shallow water and give them to people for fertilizer for their gardens. My Gramma would just till em in and her garden grew like crazy.
One of my friends told me his grandfather used to catch carp and put them in a watering trough and change the water every day until it stayed clear. Then he'd clean and cook them. He said it was some of the best fish he's ever ate.
Carp burried deep enough the raccoons can't bother them, will turn your soil to a very rich and fertil soil dark black in color in just one year!
To eat, you have to separate/filet the dark meat from the pale fat. The pale is where the nasty flavor is.
We had a refrigerator with a separate freezer on top. The unit had died..so we drilled many holes between freezer section and fridge section. The fridge section had the racks.
We turned the whole thing upside down. We built a fire in the upside down freezer section. Then hang the dark fish strip on the racks and then started the wood smoking to cook or cure.
Mmmmm.. that's good eating!!!!
