Oh..whew...no, they bent in right direction...the concave side is rotating clockwise.

That’s awesome. That at least eliminates that possibility being the issue...🐟on

Man, I'm so sorry. I get it if you don't feel comfortable with what you are doing. We were just trying hard to help so you wouldn't be with out your boat. Please tell us.what is was so we can learn and help the next guy. In parting I'm just going to say three things can happen when you put the lower unit on.
1) the pick up tube is off center in the pump output orifice. This causes the lower unit to keep from mounting flush to the engine bt 1/2 inch or so.
2) the pick up tube pops completely out of the pump orifice. The unit mounts flush to the motor but no water comes out of the pee hole.
3) the pick up tube is in the pump orifice correctly. We have a happy ending.

If you wanted to test your new impellar. Remove the prop. Fill a trash can or container that you can lower your motor into and it will hold water above the water intake holes. Mark the water level and start your motor. The water level will instantly drop and stay dropped while the engine is running. If it doesn't drop the pump is not working.

Great Idea! Instant Lake

I had the most trouble lining up part 36...,which poked out the bottom of the upper unit with number 2 which sticks up about a half inch from the lower...and a round piece or plastic goes over then both once they connect.....this look right

is #29 the coupler tube? If I remember correctly my '71Had a kinda stiff rubber coupler, but my little '90 25hp has a plastic one I think.
It connects the pump to the pipe running up to the motor.

Just a question...the impeller is directional!!! Make sure it’s installed in the right direction. Like norcal Steve stated “the impeller creates the stream”...🐟on

We're not talking about the kit,we're talking about what connects the pump to the tube that comes down from the motor. Is there a plastic or rubber sleeve that connects the 2 of them? That would be #29 in the drawing.
