Definitely better than a good day at work. I'm going to shenipsit lake in vernon tomorrow morning. Have you ever fished there or know anything about it?
No I never have YB. When I go in the house I'll look it up in my book, and see if I can give you some info.

Nice job buddy. I'm still home instead of at the pond. Wife decided that since my brother and PIC are coming tomorrow so he can help me on the boat if needed, that I should "consider" mowing the lawn and cleaning the patio up a bit. Still have to blow off the hardscape.
Thanks FT, yeah you gotta get'er done, so you can take her out for a shakedown run.
I love that you should "consider "the yardwork. My wife knows better than to use a word like that. I considered it honey, and I rejected it. LOL

Thanks Matt, I hooked something bigger, but it was taking line and ran into a blow down and broke off the 8lb fluoro leader.
Usually catch 2-3 pounders there.
You know Fred, it's not the quantity, it's the quality. I have no idea what that means, but my grandfather always said that, and then he'd walk away.

Well Harry, if Grandpa used to say it, you know its correct. One of the best things about the Greatest Generation, is they never waisted words.
Yep, we don't waste too many words......do we folks?
Glad you got out and found a few Fred. LMB's tomorrow..tight lines.

Thanks OBG, it's a start. I'm expecting at least a 5°increase in water temperature by the end of this Hot week. Hopefully the spawn will get started soon.

Nice pics FF. I also went out today with the intention of catching some gills but only caught stocked brookies, small perch and a bullhead. Still prespawn here for the gills but I’m guessing by the end of the week it should be on.

Thanks BK, Yeah this 10 days or so of above average temperature, especially the warm nights, should get the water temperature moving to where it should be. Then things will pick up.

Good luck today, Fredfish! (I must admit that you'd "scared me off" of ✓ing your post, yesterday... Just wasn't "feeling up to" solving any puzzles!!!)

It was a pretty easy one Able, I'm heading to a lake close to the coast, in East Lyme, today. I'll report my day later. Have a great day.

Ok kids, I'm back from Zoar. Water still a little cool,59°at the ramp, 61°in my favorite spot, 57°-58°up north closer to the dam. Lots of pollen, seeds, and twigs on the surface, messed up topwater and all cast and retrieve basically. Caught a couple junior Smallmouth and a couple Rockys. It was up to 85°by 1:00 and I was roasting, so I called it a day. Gotta save some energy for tomorrow.
Going Largemouth hunting tomorrow, at a lake down near our southeast shoreline.
Nice fish, Fred, good luck tomorrow.

Thanks, Fredfish. I reckon you're already putting fish on ice, by now... I'm wondering if they still recommend using insect repellent on the ankles, as well as having your pants legs, "tucked into" your socks, in THAT neck'o the woods? (Lyme Disease bearing TICKS?)
Well I'm back from East Lyme. Disappointing day. Weathermen called for 5-8mph breeze out of the southeast, cooler air off Long Island Sound. Instead we got 10-15 out of the northwest, hot wind from inland. Also blowing directly ON the ramp, making launching and retrieval lot's of fun.
Water temperature is higher down there though,67°-68° which should be good. Couldn't find the Bass anywhere, all my usual spots only had small yellow perch, sunfish, and pickerel in them. There's a shallow cove on the northwest side that may be where they're making beds, but the weeds are already so thick, they bog down the trolling motor. You have to pull it up every 3or4 feet, go unwrap weeds, probably spooking the fish in the process. So I had to settle for a couple small panfish and a couple toothy critters.
Unexpected north wind
Little 1.25 lb pickerel
Bigger 3.5lb pickerel (that I thought was a nice Bass) dammit!
8mph speed limit until Memorial Day, except for this guy and his kneeboarder.

Well, sure beats a poke in the eye with a sharp stick! Glad that you at least got out and on the water, for a while!
