Better make sure it floats before you do anything else. LOL!

If it's been outside for all this time and it's not holding water, check to see if the plug is removed. If the plug is installed, and no water in the boat, you probably can take the outboard and put it on the bath tub.

Good deal. You may have slightly overpaid for it, hahahahahaha. Before u drag it home, you might spin the wheels real good, or pull them off and have the bearings lubed so u know you won’t seize up on the way home. The bird crap will be especially difficult, have see folks get that lightly sand blasted, then spray gets coat over it. Congrats on grabbing a good deal.

Bung was open but a bit of crud there, poked it with a stick and some water came out. Going to check the bearings and grease them before I put the new wheels on. Looking forward to the profect.

Dose the motor turn over??
Ask when the last time the motor has been in the water running?
You'll have to change the oil and have the motor gone through.
Good luck could be a nice boat.
When you clean the hull wipe it all down with a product called apentroll it helps brings life the fiber glass .we use to put it in our oil base paint .
California banded it year's ago. I use to apply it to my ocean boat yrs. Ago.

Here is an old one I picked up for $600.00. It's decking and carpet were rotted. I pulled up all the old wood and replaced the deck with pressure treated deck board. I then coated them with truck liner and laid down new carpet. The outside needed a little TLC. A few spots needed some fiberglass and sanding because it looked like someone had it in the river along with a new prop. The carb needed rebuilt and it runs like a top. It's a tri-hull with a little 25 hp on it, but its fast.

Hey, Smitchell, don't you enjoy rebuilding these things. The Quachita is my fourth rebuild. I'll rebuild and use for a while, then sale and start over.

Yes, I enjoyed it too, til the fiberglass itch became unnecessary. Shore or bank, on a chair with a prestocked cooler seems just about right these days.

All I know about it have seen it on the property the last 7years, hasn't moved. Before I take it home will see what the floor is like, then at home will service the motor, lower leg oil, plugs and check out the fuel lines and then try powering it up. I got one going back in 2009 that hadn't been used for years, that was a 40hp Force

Good luck as we all know the motor is the the most expensive part on the whole Boat!!
In fact the motor cost more than trailer and the boat.
Have fun and hope all goes well for you.
