I've used 12 inch plastic worms bass fishing...largest I caught on one was about 3 pounds. That was a long time ago. Haven't seen any worms that long since then. If I found one I would buy it and give it a try again.

That is what a pocket popper is for. Great target practice and doing a good deed. I have had them try and get in the boat with me and I don't like it. Sorry to all the snake lovers. I am not one of y'all.

Did you ever climb into your jon boat after you had docked it and had lunch only to have a snake slither from under your seat? Talk about getting the willies!

Sorry flyguy but all snakes aren't our friends. A cottonmouth water moccasin has no friends. They're born mad & only get worse as they age. I used to help my grandpa set out bankpoles for catfish using perch. The line was wrapped around the end of the pole til the perch was about 3/4 in the water. He would splash around & attract the fish but it was common to catch a cottonmouth. Grandpa believed in relocating snakes too. He'd relocate it with his 20 gague.

I will 3rd that motion from Graywulff and bottomcoon. Once I figure out how to get pics from my phone to the computer, I will post a coiled up snake in the water fishing pole length away while I was in the kayak. He would not move. Therefore he won this time.

Here he is by the time I had put the phone down, I had drifted within rod distance away from him.

Snakes unnerve me. Mess up a fishing trip til they either go away or die.

Both. Get the snakes and a load of snakebite medicine at the same time.😀
