If they are spawning they won't take your bait. I've seem it many times put it in the middle of a 100 no takers. I think if you'd drop it in their mouth they'd spit it out. 👍👍

I took kids fishing and gave them a can of corn. They got to rough housing and spilled half a can in the water. Afterwards they would put 1 kernel of corn on hook and caught a whole bunch of them.

Oh man, there’s a softball lobbed over the middle of the plate....my original response was sending us all to the attic in about 7 seconds.

Canned corn. Put some on a small hook , sprinkle some around it in the water, not too much just enough for them to smell it and come looking and tasting but not so much that they’ll eat every bit except what’s on your hook. Hold on to your rod people I know have lost rods doing this.

My father in law soaks cheerios in strawberry or grape soda then balls up the cheerios in balls about the size of marbles and most of the time has a lot of fun catching!By the way ,it's usually in canals here in central Ca.

Carp always congregate around sewer outlets. I can tell you what bait to use but you aint gonna like it.

And.....if you cant find a can of friggin corn anywhere in your neighborhood....don’t worry...there’s always artificial alternatives.

Hello Frank: I have to agree with other posts here about using corn for carp. When much, much younger I grew up outside Stockton, Calif close to a canal with carp (within walking distance). One day could hear a funny sucking noise in the water but couldn't determine the source, until I saw the carp ~ sucking on a used corn cob floating in the water.

I thought it was the #1 rule of fishing: IF you can see them, they can see you.
