Went from LBI to Graveling point . Maybe a dozen people out there fishing. The bass are there but fir the most part the are local"rats" about 12 to 20 inches. One guy had three fish. I had three solid hits, as did the guy next to me, but no hookups. They would pick up the bloodworm then reject. Fish density wasn't high enough to make it worth throwing artificial. The wind went from5-6 to 15-20 in the time it took me to drive 15 miles.

To my knowledge the date is April 15th. In the hudson river north of the Washington Bridge I believe it is April 1. According to Follow the Migration bass are moving into spawn areas now. There are some schoolies around and hold overs in back bays in jersey and western new york shores. Some schoolies have been marked at Democrat Point off of fire island. Hope this helps.
Thanks for info.
I was referring to the regulations in New Jersey.
Bigger fish in Raritan Bay today even though the water is at 49 degrees.
Thanks. I reckon I need to get off my A$$. đŸ˜£
Thanks! I live near Graveling Point but NEVER saw anybody catch ANYTHING there. I haven't had access to a boat though.
That’s a good spot to fish from land. Bring more than one rod and spikes. Try dead sticking live or dead bait while throwing plugs. Falling and low tide is best.first and last light also, but fish have been caught at all times. It’s a popular spot for good reason.
Season incoming in fast. The big girls are up the Delaware to just around Philadelphia and about half way to the flats in the Chesapeake as of today's report/

If any of you people are interested in stripers, there is a web site called MFCC. A lot of it is free and he puts out a ton of info about plugs, lures and baits. This is about fishing cape cod canal and surf but the info is great.
I live near Graveling Point. I haven't fished there a lot but I have watched a lot. I have NEVER seen fish caught there.
I have a friend who has a vacation house in mystic islands and keeps his boat there on a lift. It’s great fishing that part of the bay and a short trip out the inlet to little egg reef. I put in at great bay marina and Parker town docks. Was keeping the boat in a slip in beach Haven but cost too much.
PS tons of fish are caught at graveling point.
