If it weren’t for the fact it would effect you in the same way I would be tempted to burn some poison ivy when they had their windows open!

Smokers or neighbors?
Personally, I would choose smokers over neighbors.

My neighbor called me and asked me if my house was on fire. I told her no I was smoking catfish and asked her if she wanted a sample ahe said she didn't eat fish. That was more than 5 years ago. Not a word since.

Yes, get a traeger. I had mine for 7 years and it still works great.
I just smoked a slab of salmon, it took 5.5 hours at 180 degrees and it's great. I smoked a brisket for Christmas for 13 hours.
Lots of recipes, simple to operate and I don't think you'll be disappointed.
Never accommodate crazy people!
No
But I have a neighbor call the police on me when I had deer hanging in my garage when I was skinning it !! That's when I was living in so cal so when he showed up I ask him to validate my tag.
Going down south to see the kids and celebrate my 69th B- Day still like I'm 21
Ha Ha
Have a good week.
And good fishing

Nope, they just ask what I am smoking. (Usually fish, pork, or chicken)
In my experience, there are always people like that. My Dad used to say they would complain if they were hung with a new rope. I do agree with the folks who suggested giving them some of the finished product. But with those kind of people there's no guarantee.

Funny, NOPE! They call it a dinner bell. Without the sound.
As a beginner you might try a weber grill with smoking accessories

RIP my USMC and American flags from my yard would really trigger my PTSD. There would be blood.
Vietnam veteran
Treager not trigger and I would also be upset if someone touched my flags
Quite typical for California
Like people who buy a house next to the airport then complain about the noise
