Well guys. We got out to the fishin grounds bout 0915 and didn't have but 2 or 3 on the boat by 1000.
We were havin trouble findin any GOOD keepers. The ones we were catchin were right at 18 inches. I don't like to keep any that the game warden might say were 17 3/4. I would just as soon throw all those back.
We finally kept one that was nearly 19 and then shortly before we left we cught a 26 incher, Went bout 5 1/2 pounds. Really nice fish. Only 2 we kept. I also caught a small flounder, bout 17 inches.
All in all we had a 50+ fish day and I think Ben had a good time.
Ended up stayin longer than I wanted to but when you are still catchin fish it's hard to stop.

Way to go, Steve! Just being out there and catching them makes for a great day :-)
I might have to target halibut/flounder next time I am out there. I caught a legal sized halibut my last time out there. I did not know they were in that area :-)

Where do you launch to get into Napa River? I would like to take my son over there.

Beautiful fish! I’ll be going to the 1st street pier tomorrow morning for stripers and crab. What were you using?

If you dont mind my asking, what lures are you using, casting on the Napa? thanks. Oh good catching by the way!

We use rattle trap or similar type of lures. Usually in 1/2 OZ to 3/4 OZ.

Damn ! You are amazing! I went trout fishing yesterday at Bon Tempe in Marin, caught 12 trout , kept 5 and had a 3 year old with his dad that I gave him my pole to bring in his first fish and thought I was the American Angler until I saw how many fish you caught !!
When I go to Cuttings Wharf , nothing but shakers ... you are the Man !!!
