Hi, Peter !
Welcome to the fishing stage;
if he doesn't answer (or isn't interested), not to worry ! There are others near your area who may be, as we have members in
Delaware, Maryland, New Jersey and S/E Pennsylvania, so you
may find someone near you soon !
Hey Peter
.occasionally I fish Delaware beaches but normally fish Jersey or NC. Drop me a line. Qell talk one day.
You should be able to find shrimp at Baish Boys a bait shop in Murrells Inlet. They are very up to date on fishing info. If you can't find shrimp get some Gulp New Penny Shrimp and nose hook it on a drop shot rig keep it moving.
When I fish at the pier (very rarely) I like Garden City Pier. People at the pier know what is being caught and caught on what. Good luck and enjoy your stay.
Look for bait shop near pier. Ask shop for bait recommendations based on current local conditions. Shrimp usually good to use. Ask for rigging advise

Pulled this 4 ft sandshark out of the surf in October...that was the biggest fish i ever caught from the beach...and only got him because i was using bigger tackle for stripers.
That’s a spiny dogfish,watch out for the spines sticking up in front of the dorsal fins and they have teeth too!!

Hello everyone, I was watching some videos about pier fishing. The guy swears by using large live shrimp with 20lb test line. He says it's a can't miss way to catch from a pier. I am going to myrtle beach on 4/10. Does anyone know where to purchase them there or is this guy full of crap. Also looking for surf fishing help as I do not seem to do well there most times. Thanks
Saltwater fishing requires a license in S.C.
Except on piers, they charge you to get on and have gear you can rent and bait also. You can also fish on a head boat or charter boat and you’ll be covered as far as license is concerned and they have rigs and bait as well. If you fish from the beach around Myrtle area you need a license . Local bait and tackle shops will be glad to help with all of these issues as well as to advise you of all species in season and their size and bag limits.

He was also pretty angry..lol....i know i had to lift his a** with both hands to put him back in the water. Heavy sucker.
I don’t like pier fishing to many idiots, having said that I would go the day before have a look around , annd pay attention to who is catching fish the end of the pier is not nesesarly the best spot.most fishermen will help you out . Especially if there buddy owns the tackle shop a good shop will set you up with what you need and only what you need remember they want you to come back. Pay attention to tides , sun up sun down
You can get fresh shrimp at a place called the Honk kong Market in myrtle it's located on Oak st right off of rt 501 in Downtown.About $7.00 a lb. With the heads on.
