I’m new to the Hampton va area and just wondering about what to fish at what season . I’ve only fished freshwaters . No exspence fishing cheasapeake bay or any of the rivers in Hampton area . Any info appreciated. Thanks

Welcome to the Fishing Stage, Topcat75! Although I've spent some amount of time near where you're at; I've got no real, useful information to share... I was working on commercial boats at the time and tied up at Phoebus, just at the eastern edge of the Strawberry Banks, as well as near the mouth of the James River, at Newport News. Our "target species" was scallops; so... Someone on here, should be able to give some good advice. I'm thinking that there is a "member" in Chesapeake, Va. on here.

Try the Buckroe beach Pier for Bay fishing. T here are many reservoirs, lakes, ponds and creeks with freshwater fish. Mahy tackle shops have the VDGIF publications to help you lacate areas. Good luck!
