Properly tied knots don’t loosen.... adding moisture....saliva when tying most knots helps to “set it”! Palomar works well for anything except combining 2 lines... I use a double uni or even a double double uni for braid to fluoro or mono because of the fine texture of braid.... actual started using All fluoro in some applications... braid is tough to handle for dinosaurs

Was talking about Stripe Bass.
Glad you're catching Large Mouth Bass.

I use 4 primary knots depending on what I'm doing. FG or uni to uni mainline to leader, and improved clinch knot (fisherman's knot) to most terminal tackle. When using artificial I'll use a canoe man loop knot.

Every body uses what works for them. I make a Loop and then do it again, looped twice. That way it never slides down on Mono. Now days I use Braid and still do double loops and then use the loop to attach a barrel swivel snap. Makes removing the hook with leader/lure or rig easy when shutting down. No hooks on the rod to nail you removing the rod from the car. I can also do it at night in the dark when needed, but I have bought a head light for night fishing, better than trying to hold a flashlight between your head and shoulder or in your mouth. ;)
