There was a link with the history of it, but it is down right now :-(

I have a 20 on an ultra lite pole and a 35 on a medium action pole. Love them. For the price they are hard to beat!

Like I said.I even have Grandfather's Mitchel 300 with a right hand Handel. Because he was used to Bait casters and it still works.
Good fishing 🎣

I’m also a Shimano fan.
But the question of Mitchell vs Pfluger , I’d say you can’t go wrong with the Pfluger President.
It performs well above its price point.
I have heard very good things about these reels.

i agree

I have two Plueger Presidents and we use them in Saltwater regularly. Never had any problems. I’m sold on them.

I have been using Mitchell reels for the past 50 plus years. Time for a change?
I’ve been looking at/considering the Pflueger President for the past few months, but am still drawn back to the Mitchell.
Opinions?

Ive seen all the comments, I used to have several Michell 300 reels. I loved them, I have gotten a couple Pflueger in the last 3 years. The first one has been working great so far, the second one had a problem in the first 2 months. It’s was a small ultra lite for my ultralite trout rod. The anti-reverse broke, what a mess at the lake. I have replaced it with a like reel, but now I have been skeptical. I have gotten 2 Lews in the last couple months to try this year so I will make a change and see how that works this year.

Truth about most reels, they are all pretty good! I don't spin fish except for crappie and ultra light is my favorite. Have a Shimano, Kastking, Ocuma. Really small Ocuma and Shakespeare both with 2# line. Don't think I have a favorite. Have an old Mitchell 300 I need a rod for and a couple big Daiwa's I don't suspect I'll ever use. Of the Shimano, Kast king and two Ocuma's I don't have a favorite, love them all. My all time favorite spinning reels are the Micthell 300 and Mitchell 308. But I wouldn't throw any I have away to get new one's!

Kastking was a surprise! Got a Rover 40 just to try and liked it well enough to try a small spinning reel, really nice little reel. The other surprise is the small Ocuma, really nice and the other Ocuma really nice also.

Now I have what some may call a flaw. I like what I like to look at and use. Give me an ugly $300 reel and I'll never use it. It think that the majority of company's these days are making nice products! I'm pretty much willing to try most anything, well that appeals to me! That little Shakespere I got I got only for the rod. Rod and reel $20! Figured the rod was worth that for some other reel I have. Then got to fooling around with the little Shakespeare and put it on a butt ugly yellow Eagle Claw ultra light and haven't used it yet but it feels great, hope no one see's me with a yellow rod! Funny how things work sometimes Bet if Shakespeare put that little reel on a shorter rod they would sell more. But they, all of them, normally put rod and reels together to try to move slow stuff!
