I am limited to casting with right hand due to hand and shoulder. I then transfer to left hand and if I have a catch use my right to reel and place pole handle in between legs and use weak left hand as a retrieve. Not ideal but it has worked in my situation.

Right retrieve / Right handed - - However, I cast Left handed because originally we only had right hand bait cast reels. But, with spinning gear, I cast right and retrieve left, because the reels were for left retrieve when I was learning. There was a lot of interesting discussion on this topic several months ago.

Wow, I've never seen a BC that you could reverse the handle on, just spinnin reels.

Started usung a left handed baitcaster years age when they first became available. Now alot of baitcasters come in both. When using light lures I use spinning reels. Over 3/8 oz. I use baitcasters. I can add more action to the rod tip with my right hand, so I prefer the rod in my right hand.

Me too, and I've never seen a BC reel you could change the handle from one side to the other like a spinnin reel either.

All my reels, fly, spin, level wind are held in my right hand and retrieve with my left. In some salt water reels I’ve used where they hung below the rod, they retrieved on the left.

I’m right handed but use both right and left hand baitcasters. My spinning reels are all left hand reels. Never seen a baitcasters that you could switch from right to left or left to right. I would think your star drag and braking system would prevent that from happening.

Left! I’m right handed... but, like most people, I started fishing with a spinning reel. At that time, they were all left hand crank! I can’t tell you how many fish I’ve lost in between flipping into cover and switching hands to reel! All left handed crank for me 🎣
