Suffix 832 is great braid. Smooth and limp, if you like that. I do like Power Pro super slick also, casts a mile.

Whatever works for you in your waters with your fish species, stick with it. Sometimes different waters dictate different lines. Lots of rocks and boulders and underwater structure will suggest different line. I usually stick with mono, changing to braid for rough structure. I hate Flourocarbon except for leaders. I find it gives me too much back lash with casting gear and the price is getting out of site.

I also tried braid when it first came out, I also hated it. At that time the individual fibwrs in braid was larger than now, I flipped and pitched a lot in brush and trees. Whenever I had line hanging over a limb the rough texrure would vibrate the line, sounded like a banjo string. Now the better lines have a smaller fiber producing a smoother line. This helps in casting distance and control. I use braid on spinning reels with a florocarbon leader and alberto knot to connect. Flipping I still use mono or floro, 20- 30 lb test. Look for the smaller fiber in the braid you choose, whatever the brand. Carry good scissors or a sharp knife to cut braid with. Don't throw the waste into the water, it will get into prop shafts and destroy the seals, gas or electric . Keep fishing. DEEJAY

Mono does the same thing but melts into a hard plastic disc that will ruin the shaft too.Inboards it will cut into the cutlass bearings and ruin them AND the shaft.
I can see braid and mono in water, don't know if it matters , but I use 3-6 feet of flouro for a leader, I don't buy using mono for a "stretch leader" at all. use circle hooks and u don't have to set the hook, and is much better for the fish if u catch and release.

My only complaint with braid is when surfcasting, the diameter is so small it tends to slip out from under your finger before you want it to, and you cast a popup 20 feet from shore. Other than that its good stuff.

When i do use floro leader on braid i use uni to uni knot. Works well for me. Like most things in fishing it's a personal preference. I like power pro.

If you're not sure if you want floro try Pline copolymer. I've used it alot before i stated floro. I still keep some on hand. Cast well n it's tough. Price is reasonable. Best thing is try a few options and pick what best suits you

I know we have some very serious fishermen here, and some noobees starting out. What works for some might be a pain for others. But you need to keep in mind that once we were all at the starting line, so a lil help would be great and heres where one gets some.My personal experience with line goes about as far as i can cast my lure or bait in a given situation. If i hook and land a fish...success! If i swing and miss...must be the fish can see the line? LOL

I completely agree. It matters very little, just a marketing ploy to sell more of different lines. Just Sayin...RJS

RJ I'm gonna differ with you on that. I use the same pole same sinker same bait and my cast distance is 40% more with braid.

I agree with you on that Fin. I think braid n floro just lays on the reel better n comes of smoother. I know how far i can cast with my baitcasters. I unlike alot of guy run my reel LOOSE. It's amazing how much you can gain by going again age old logic n turn that on loose n let er fly. Just don't be day dreaming when lure hits the water 😁

Go get 'em. Mono and spinning reels have nailed billions of fish, including a few for me since 1962. I do use a lot of braid now, but always have spools of mono for each reel.

Choice in line is like everything in fishing. It's all about personal choice n what you have confidence in. Alot of us remember when we pretty much had two choices. Stiff mono n stuff that looked like masonry string. We all caught plenty. Buy what you can afford n what feels comfortable in your hands. If you plan on doing alot of casting. I'd recommend getting lite rig.
