Great job there. I've heard of them but had never seen one.

I've started carrying one when i started bass fishing. Lures cost too much to lose if you don't have to. Timmy Horton promotes the telescopic pole.

Hi fellows. One more thing about lure retrieval. As i mentioned this one works but i had problems with it in tree tops. I saw the telescopic one decided i didn't want ti spend the money. I made my own bump ploe retriever. I used a long pc of 1/2" pvc pipe. Epoxy a pc of sisal rope inside one end. Unravel the strands. Installed 2 small eye screws for line guides. I've found it works good not only on treble hooks but on jigs spinnerbait most anything with a single hook because it's a bump pole also. Fits nicely under side rails on my tracker

LURE RETRIEVER This baby has saved me tons of $$. I was told that if you're not getting hung up occasionally, you're not fishing in the right places. I do get lures hung up and this lure retriever is well worth the $13-14 it cost. I don't leave home without it. I tie the other end of my string to a marker buoy in case I drop it. (experience taught me that) I have never hung a lure on a MINNOW TRAP.

Careful when you order Gills. There's 2 versions of that lure retriever. One version doesn't have the chains & does not always work as well. The chains don't always get tangled in the lure hooks & save the day but when you're really hung up those chains just might bring your lure back. I consider the lure retriever necessary equipment
on my boat. Won't leave home without it.

Let's look at this...$15 to retrieve a $6 lure....hmmm... since you don't know what's hanging up the lure in the first place, smart move would be to send something 2-3 times as valuable to retrieve it, risking IT as well, right ? .....hmmmm...oookay.

Well, if it saves 3 lures in its career you are $ ahead.

Back when I was a lot younger someone showed me about putting a spark plug on my line and letting it slide down the line to get my lure unhung. It worked pretty good. I think that’s what this contraption is for. The word is minnow trap.

Yes it's a lure retriever. Don't know how good it works, like to try one.

For all those who haven't tried a "plug knocker " they work, will save a lot of money on retrieved baits. I've make my own 40 years now. I use 1 that is about 3 ounces that I use on smaller line, but has no cord tied to it. Another that weighs about 8-10 ounces attached to a reel, on a short rod. I use it for heavy baits, spinnerbaits, jigs, deep diving crankbaits, flipping rigs. Very seldom lose a lure, but sometimes no matter what you do you can't get some lures back. A telescopic golf ball retrever works great also. Just take the cup off and replace it with a coiled wire to insert your line. I use the telescopic rig to get lures out of trees that are to high to reach by hand. You can reach to 15- 20 feet up, depending on how long the telescopic rod is. Keep fishing. DEEJAY

Definitely a lure retriever device the chains are for the hooks to snag on and not break I could see where someone that got there favorite lure stuck on the bottom would use this to get it back it probably cheaper than dive tanks not sure if I would use it very often what’s the word “Cheesy “
