I have one a friend gave me. I have never tried it but you have renewed my interest and I think I will try it next time I go oscar fishing.

Put a lightweight jig three feet or so below it. Works wonders!

Why not drill a hole in it and fill it with spray foam? Be careful though because the expanding foam my change the shape. Maybe a hole on each side so the foam can expand out would work. I think the dried foam could be shaped and even painted.

A lot of plastics need to be "flamed" google that, to remove the surface oils.Even for high performance epoxies like West System Flex. A lot can be welded with A reg soldering iron. that will work on ATV fenders and bike plaStic parts. lo oks ugly but if you do it on the back, it's not too bad.

There are flat tips that go on soldering irons for use on plastics. They are kind of messy.I used one once before they had epoxies specifically for plastics.

Yup, takes practice. u can get filler rods for plastic that makes the process more like gas welding.

Might try a hot glue gun. It’s worked for me on hard plastic items.
