I primarily do bass and striper fishing. When I can't go out in my small boat, I can spend an hour or two at the local city 7-acre pond for bass and stocked trout. May not catch anything that day, but at least had the chance to 't get out and enjoy the day. Once or twice a year, I hire a guide for 4 or 6 hour trip. They almost always will put you on fish and sometimes the "big one". With them, you can stand up or sit down, whatever suits you at the time. Don't quit, it's too good for you!

Been doing that for years now!
Hi hartwell. My 1st boat was a tractor tube n a pc of plywood. I got my 1st real boat in. 2005 17' glastron with a 115 so i wouldn't always be co angler. Found myself fishing the Potomac n Susquehanna more than lakes. 2012 i found a nice 1754 CC tracker with a jet. I'm 35mils from the closest river 50 to the closest big lake. I an surrounded by many snall bodies of water. Most electric only. I bought a 9' plastic pond boat put a 55lb minkota on it and a small depth finder on it. Easy to handle can get in where i can't get a trailer. It's a fun rig. I also will fish as long as i can. It's best therapy around.

Hi Jerry. I always heard about the golden yrs. I haven't found much gold but i have noticed alot if rust. It's difficult to accept that our body isn't capable of doing what it use to. I do believe i have to think young or I'll age way faster. Sometimes we have to use our ole man ingineity to find ways of making things easier for us. Best wishes brother fish as long as you can.
Just so you are clear: the golden years refer to to our doctors income as we get old.

I want to thank each and everyone of you that responded to my query, there were very many good answers. I'm sure I was just trying to delude myself into thinking I'm in better shape than I really am. I do suffer from severe cramping of my legs, plus serious heart problems and back problems and sitting in close quarters I think is not the way to go. I'm sorry I might have wasted your precious time away from the water ways guys, I guess it was just my mind thinking I'm younger that I really am. Keep a tight line fellows!

Fing a younger, avid fisherman with a pontoon boat. My father-in-law was 90 and we used a pontoon. Thatn way he could stand up, stretch, pee in a coffee can etc. worked great.
Doctors n pharmaceuticals certainly get a big slice of the pie

The only thing golden in my last few years has been my pee
I've found, through experience and doctor recommendations, that cramps can be prevented
by drinking plenty of water and getting enough potassium. A banana each day or a potassium
pill does the trick for me.
I take potassium and magnesium daily for cramps. You need to stay hydrated as well. If I get out there and work up a good sweat I make sure to drink plenty of water.
A word of caution on cramps. If they are severe and you are not getting relief ask for an MRI of the brain. My wife started getting cramps and all kinds of treatments but they got progressively worse. Finally convinced a neurosurgeon to order a brain MRI. She had a massive tumor that had been growing slowly for decades. Surgery and the cramps went away. Almost lost her. I doubt she would have lasted another 6 months if they had not found it. They found the tumor on a Thursday and she was operated on the following Tuesday.

Be careful taking potassium, you can take too much. A blood test showed that I was over the stand amount. And that’s not good...🐟on
