I want to thank each and everyone of you that responded to my query, there were very many good answers. I'm sure I was just trying to delude myself into thinking I'm in better shape than I really am. I do suffer from severe cramping of my legs, plus serious heart problems and back problems and sitting in close quarters I think is not the way to go. I'm sorry I might have wasted your precious time away from the water ways guys, I guess it was just my mind thinking I'm younger that I really am. Keep a tight line fellows!

I doubt you wasted anybody’s time Jerry. Sharing thoughts and ideas is what we’re all about here on the stage. I think we are all concerned about doing things safely and I encourage you to get out and do everything your capable of doing and enjoy every moment...🐟on
I would still suggest something in a small light boat that you can handle and be comfortable in. Or you could adopt a 60 year old kid that has a boat and go fishing with him or her.

Good remedy for leg cramps is 6 ounces of grape juice with 1 tspoon of pectic stirred in. Pectin can be found in the baking isle, its used in making jelly and jam.

I am going through the same stage in life while the spirit is willing the body is not. It happens to all of us as much as we hate to admit it. In the book of Ecclesiastes chapter 12 there is this poem about the ageing process. I enjoy it and like the word pictures. It could make you cry but actually it makes me laugh because I see my situation it it and the word pictures are so funny but true. Here it is for you all to consider
Remember also your Creator in the days of your youth, before the evil days come and the years draw near of which you will say, “I have no pleasure in them”; before the sun and the light and the moon and the stars are darkened and the clouds return after the rain, in the day when the keepers of the house tremble, and the strong men are bent, and the grinders cease because they are few, and those who look through the windows are dimmed, and the doors on the street are shut—when the sound of the grinding is low, and one rises up at the sound of a bird, and all the daughters of song are brought low— they are afraid also of what is high, and terrors are in the way; the almond tree blossoms, the grasshopper drags itself along, and desire fails, because man is going to his eternal home, and the mourners go about the streets— before the silver cord is snapped, or the golden bowl is broken, or the pitcher is shattered at the fountain, or the wheel broken at the cistern, and the dust returns to the earth as it was, and the spirit returns to God who gave it.
Thanks again fellas. some kind words and well wishes. Keep em tight!

They say we're only as young as we feel. I just clicked over 75 and except for a few aches and pains still can do a lot. Do you take magnesium ? I was told about it years back for cramps and skin crawling, after a while that all went away.
As long as I'm able I have no intentions of slowing down. I'll get my rest when they bury me.

Didn't we just get this from preacher Terry ?
Hi Jerry. I always heard about the golden yrs. I haven't found much gold but i have noticed alot if rust. It's difficult to accept that our body isn't capable of doing what it use to. I do believe i have to think young or I'll age way faster. Sometimes we have to use our ole man ingineity to find ways of making things easier for us. Best wishes brother fish as long as you can.
I am 86 this month and I'm still fishing. When I was in my 20's a Jon boat was my first boat. Since that time I owned several boats which increased in size. From jon boat to a 22 ft. cabin cruiser back down to a jon boat. I don't go alone, I always invite a younger person to join me. I feel my age but I am determined to do as much as I can. Go fishing in a jon boat, in quiet lakes, with someone younger.
