Maybe once a year but we had some last month too, it's been sent across from Ca, they like their global warming
Had snow yesterday & another 6 inches coming tomorrow. If I was a snow lover I'd live up north. Hate that white crap. The
current temp is 7 degrees, totally out of normal. The bathroom on the south side of mom's house is frozen up, my brother has electric heat that won't work, my nephew's home is frozen & the list goes on. The electrician said he has over 20 calls & he's small time. I can imagine the larger commercial electric & gas repairmen. The town was without electricity most all day yesterday. I must be experiencing fishing withdrawal. I'll be back to my abnormal self in a few days if this global warming slacks off.

Read earlier about Oklahoma being snowed in. Makes it easier while retired not having to get out. They say it'll ease of by the weekend

I was in Mississippi last week, Hattiesburg. The're getting freezing rain today. Now I'm in my home state babysitting my 91 year old mother. She has no short term memory & must have someone here at all times. She doesn't know if she's fishing or cutting bait. I don't want to put her in a home but it my be inevitable. Tight lines.

Sorry to hear about your mother bottom Coon that is a tough decision I'm sure you'll hang tough as long as you can. The jet stream sure has been pretty wild this year that's for sure.
Hi all welcome to winter . I live and grew up in central Minnesota and it was -25 farenheit last night and warmed up to-6 today. May warm up to 35 farenheit by Sunday. I have 3 kerosene heaters and two propane heaters that I can use if my natural gas furnace goes out. My cousin burns wood and cuts it off my property 🛶

Today was -10 degrees here & it snowed. Of course it's a record here at over 200 hours below zero. I know the members in Texas are getting unusually frigid weather also. Our family moved into this house in 1952 so I've seen the weather over the years. I have a photo of a thermometer outside the kitchen window that reads 114 degrees. I'm here helping my mom. My home is 225 miles NE of here & the water is frozen. My wife is managing without me. One bathroom is frozen here but the other is fine & we have water. I hope everyone comes out of these storms with no personal or property damages. Won't it feel good to wet a hook when this is over.
Sorry to here about your mother. Mine was in a nursing home for 7 years before she passed away. Was in a mental health situation. I am just glad that she passed away before this virus started. I live in central Minnesota and am used to the cold weather here. My wife hates hot weather will never move south but it gets hot here in the summer also and humid.

About 10 years ago my wife & I decided to brave the winter & go to Wisconsin to visit our daughter & granddaughters. Their dad was stationed at Camp McCoy just east of LaCrosse. Right away I saw more winter & snow than I'd ever seen but the people were accustomed to it & kept streets & roads open. The first morning my grandaughters wanted me to take them to school. I went out & started my Tundra to get it warmed up. I looked at the gauges & saw the temperature at a minus 3. I had never seen weather that cold & I sure didn't know that truck temperature gauge would register that low. The girls had school. We would never have school in that kind of weather. My son & his family spent 3 years in Fairbanks, Alaska & loved the winter. The schools here are closed because of weather & I doubt if they open this week. I guess it's what a man gets used to. Good luck.

It is nice that you are there helping your Mom and just spending time with her.
Take another picture of the thermometer during the cold that you are having now.
Pictures never forget so take some of your Mom while you have the camera ready.
