3 years ago, by actual count, 4 of us caught 82 Walleye in 90 minutes. A bright sunny day at between 4PM and 5:30 PM. All casting with minnow type lures. (Rapala & Storm)

I have a lot of fun with this statement. I know it when someone says I caught or we caught a 100 fish today. That it means they had a great day. I love hearing about someone's great day. It does happen.

When it's someone who is just bragging and trying to show there superiority. I like to ask if they kept them or did they really keep count. I also ask how long they fished. I always get a big chuckle out of it. If it's a friend I get a lot of fodder out of it to horas them. I have learned to be careful. Some get pissed, and don't like being questioned about it.

Here is the math.
8 hours is 480 minutes, divided by 100 fish. That is a fish being caught every 4.8 minutes.
That is some very busy fishing. LOL

I lived in the High Sierras for much of my life. 100 fish days were not uncommon when fishing for trout in some of the higher lakes. I would use dry flys and no barbs so that I could release unharmed. I had one lake that I hiked to every year. It was a 2.5 hour hike one way. The worst I ever did was on a windy day in which I only counted 80 fish. I only wish I was still able to make the hike but now too old to do so. Great memmories of those times.

I use to carry my float tube, waders and flippers to the lake. The worst I ever did was 80 trout which was on a windy day. I'm a fly fisherman and I also remember days of 100 fish or more. I lived in the High Sierras for much of my life and some of the lakes I hiked to would produce 100 fish or more per day. I had one lake which I use to hike to every year. It was 2.5 hour hike one way and I would carry my float tube, waders and flippers and leave just when I was able to see the trail and return before dark. The worst I ever did at this lake was 80 fish which was on a very windy day. I would only use barbless flys so that I could release unharmed. Some of those high lakes had very little fishing pressure. I only wish I could still do this, but now too old but I have great memmories.

The headline caught my eye, and I thought "Right!" Then had to laugh when I read the post. I'd never heard the saying so enjoyed that. I've had so many 100 fish days; that's living!
