If that were so, then why did you repeatedly lose to me
Ya' durn Squid.
Great looking set of wheels, I had a 59 , two door, didn't win races but knew it's way to the Mississippi River on Friday afternoon after I got off work ! Managed to find it's way to every trout stream in Iowa thru the many years I owned it !
that was just one of your many fantasys BF
My real first car was a $100, 54 Chevy in High School. The rules were as long as it ran it was mine. If it didn't run and I worked on it, it was mine. If it didn't run and I didn't work on it, it was gone and I could walk forever.
That said it ran on blood, sweat, profanity, and lots of reading on Motor's Manuals.
The first owner had it 8 &1/2 years and babied it. The second owner, changed the oil once in a year and 1/2. The only ting I didn't work on was the trans, other than a new filer, and the rear end.
I learned a lot about tune ups, timing, adjusting valves, Drum Brakes, and rebuilding the front end.
Took it in 10 times for a front end alignment until I fixed everything he found wrong. LOL
Learned about 2X12s for jack stands in the desert along with Mech Screens for traction when stuck in sand and using heavy string to tie them to the rear door handles so I didn't have to stop until I reached solid ground.
Washes were an education about soft sand. Did I mention that the 54 Chevy 4 door was almost as heavy as dump truck? Not quite but close. I blew the engine just before I went into boot camp. When I was in Boot camp my Dad wrote me to say he had sold it "as is" to a guy in Casa Grande (31 miles away) for $100. My first thought was he should have held out for more, as I had won a lot from him with the car.
