They're out there, you just have to be persistent. If you want smaller hooks for trout, try looking online for fly fishing suppliers.

The other advantage of barbless hooks is that they are easier to pull out of your cheek or thumb. Or ear, or neck, or .... . The classic Alec Jackson steelhead fly hooks are really fun.

I use a Dremel tool and grind the barbs off. I then buff the bump. It does not take long if you do a bunch on a rainy day. As for the wise guy responses, yes, takes about the same time on a non rainy day. It is as quick as changing out hooks and a lot cheaper, especial on treble hooks. I suggest using a small bench clamp vice to hold the hooks.

After being handcuffed by a CA game warden while Turkey hunting several years ago I pretty much lost all respect for our wardens. I was cuffed for almost 2 hours while he went through my vehicle, guns, and wallet with a fine tooth comb. But, I wasn't bothered by him doing his job. It was being forced to listen to him go on and on about how he was going out of his way to be a dick, that I was helpless to stop him and that he was proud to be a dick. I can honestly say I don't know how I was able to control myself. By the time he uncuffed me I was so angry all I could think of was the righteous beating this guy so richly deserved.
